Which is better, rotational or injection molding?
Rotational molding is ideal for packaging and pallets used in abusive environments. Because the rotational molding process is stress free for the resin, the resulting product is robust and durable. Although capable of extremely complex designs, rotational molds are less expensive than injection molds. It is the perfect process for keeping costs down no matter what the size or quantity. Injection molding, because of the cost of the molds, is really only suited for small parts and large quantities of 50,000 or more.
Is virgin plastic important?
Using virgin plastic means that the molder can be confident of the structural strength and life expectancy of the product. Regrind resin indicates that the resin has multiple heat histories, which degrade the strength and durability of the final product. Jeco Plastics uses only virgin plastic.
How long can plastic pallets and containers be expected to last?
Properly designed and manufactured, plastic pallets and containers can be expected to last for decades under normal use. Jeco plastic pallets manufactured more than 30 years ago are still in active use by our happy customers.
Why is an ISO rating important?
Certification by the International Organization for Standardization provides assurance that the manufacturer has documented and follows established procedures for the production process. Many plastic molders are unwilling to undergo the rigorous evaluation which leads to ISO certification.
What separates Jeco from other rotational molders?
Jeco Plastics enjoys an excellent reputation among rotational molders.
Two things distinguish Jeco:
- The ability to design products that have not previously been rendered in plastic.
- The ability to manufacture products that others often regard as not possible to produce
Is it important for a plastics designer to also manufacture product?
Mold design and manufacturing must be closely coordinated to produce quality plastic items which will endure under hard use. Some vendors of plastic pallets and containers rely on outside molders, with the result that they are unable to stand behind the quality of product produced. Jeco Plastics has mold design and manufacturing under one roof.
