The Jeco Plastics engineering staff has extensive experience designing special purpose constructions which can be molded or thermoformed in plastic. Some examples of custom items Jeco Plastics has molded for clients:
High-Value Automotive Parts Containers—A major worldwide manufacturer of diesel engines needed a special purpose shipping container in which to ship finished crankshafts. Jeco Plastics designed a high-strength rotationally molded pallet with lidded, thermoformed dual-durometer plastic tray. The tray had shaped sections fitted to the exact crankshaft size. The interiors of the shaped sections had soft plastic linings to protect the crankshaft finish during shipment.
High-Strength Work-in- Process Pallets—A manufacturer specified a work-in-process pallet which would be completely recyclable yet perform as well as existing steel pallets. After an exhaustive development and testing program, Jeco Plastics developed a pallet which exceeded specifications within the required weight and price parameters.

Oversized Panel Pallets—A North American manufacturer of over-the-road trailers required an extremely large pallet to transport panels for final assembly. Requirements included 15-year life, low cost, high strength and weight bearing capability, and the ability to protect the panels from scratching and abrasion in transit. Because panels were to be stored outside, the pallets needed to be impervious to extreme temperatures and weather. Metal pallets were unacceptable because of static charge buildup. Jeco Plastics developed and produced a 115 x 54 inch (292 x 137 centimeter) pallet which met every aspect of the specifications.
Large Roll Pallet—A Jeco Plastics specialty is manufacturing pallets for large, extremely heavy rolls, for use in paper manufacturing and metal rolling mills. Typical of these is this stackable pallet, measuring 54 x 110 x 16 inches (137 x 279 x41 centimeters), capable of supporting a 28,000-pound (12,600 kilogram) load without deflection. The pallet includes steel inserts which distribute the load and provide extra strength.
Specialty Hexagonal Pallet—Jeco Plastics developed this hexagonal pallet to enable storing extremely heavy round loads. Measuring 55 inches (140 centimeters) across, the pallet can support a 10,000-pound (4,500-kilogram) roll of paper stored on end, without deflection or damage to the fragile paper. In a copper wire manufacturing operation, it supports 22,000 pounds (9,900 kilograms), and withstands 130°F (54°C), 11,000-pound (4,950-kilogram) coils dropped from 6 feet (1.8 meters). The pallet is forklift accessible from any direction.
Aircraft Engine Shipping Container—To prevent aircraft engines from incurring shipping damage, Jeco Plastics designed this specialty reusable container. This stackable pallet with integral cover eliminated in-transit damage.
High-Value Product Protection—Jeco Plastics specializes in designing shipping containers to protect high-value items such as these turbine delicate blade assemblies.
Increasing Shipping Density—For a major worldwide automobile manufacturer based in North America, Jeco Plastics designed and produced specialty shipping containers which dramatically increased the density of products being shipped, while affording protecting from damage. Parts may be loaded from either side of the container.
Decorative and Structural Laminates—Jeco Plastics thermoforming capability permits producing items such as equipment doors to strict tolerances and weight requirements.
Static Dissipation—Using specialty resins, Jeco Plastics provides semiconductor manufacturers with specialty work-in-process pallets which dissipate static electricity. This flat-top pallet has a static dissipative coating and is suitable for clean room usage.
Hygienic Pallets for Food and Sanitary Usage—Jeco Plastics has extensive experience designing and manufacturing pallets and containers for food processing and pharmaceutical applications. This pallet was designed for cold room use and was molded using a specially formulated, FDA-approved resin. The pallet is smooth and easy to clean, without crevices.
Nestable Pallets—When not in use, these Jeco pallets require minimum storage space. Logistics pallets such as these are designed for maximum stackability and ease of cleaning in a special environment.
Lipped Pallets—These proprietary Jeco Plastics pallets are designed with a lipped top, preventing loads from slipping beyond the edge. Special designs like these are readily executed in plastic, but very expensive and difficult to produce in materials such as steel or wood.
Double-Faced Pallets—This symmetrical Jeco Plastics pallet design is never inverted and always ready to use.
Runner Pallets—Designed with runners, rather than feet, this specialty Jeco Plastics pallet was designed to automatically receive stacked product as it comes from the production machine. It can be strengthened with steel if loads are great.
Container Sets—In manufacturing environments, containers which are of different sizes but still stackable are quite useful. Jeco Plastics developed this series of compatible containers for a major US manufacturer.
Utility Bins and Containers—Storage and work-in-process containers such as these can be designed with particular features or made of exotic resins for special applications. Rotational molding permits economically manufacturing such products in relatively low volumes.
Stackable/Nestable Containers—These specialized Jeco Plastics containers are both stackable and nestable, combining the ability to store and stack large volumes of product, yet minimizing container footprint.
